Salutations! My name is Sean Alexander Kaiulani Chun. In this blog I am going to share with you about my experience during my progression in the GameDevHQ internship. First, I am going share about my challenge with downloading GameDevHq’s Filebase. Secondly, I will tell you about my challenge after the game development program, Unity crashed. Lastly, I will share a video on my progress after completing the Prototype to Production Section of GameDevHQ’s 2D Development Course.

Now that I have told you about what I will be sharing with you in this blog, I will share about overcoming my challenge with downloading files from GameDevHq’s Filebase.

First, I started my course work a little differently today. I decided to view all of the videos in the Prototype to Production Section of GameDevHQ’s 2D Development Course for a better scope of what I was getting into. When I actually began to follow along in my project with the video lectures I arrived at the challenge of downloading files from GameDevHq’s Filebase. I assumed it was a one step process to download GameDevHQ’s Filebase, thus confusing myself for the better half of an hour before I asked for support in the GameDevHQ #all-questions-answer direct messaging group in the communication platform, Slack. After walking through the downloading process with Support Tech, Joanne, I was able to download GameDevHQ’s Filebase and continue my work.

Now that I have shared with you about my challenge with downloading GameDevHq’s Filebase, I will share about my challenge after the game development program, Unity crashed.

Secondly, after I completing the Prototype to Production Section of GameDevHQ’s 2D Development Course, it was exciting to see the graphics incorporated in the game. Then the game development program, Unity crashed. It was easy enough to restart the program, but I regret not saving my progress before hand. Lesson learned, save your progress often because you never know what challenges may arise.

Now that I have shared with you about the challenge of the game development program, Unity crashing, I will share a video on my progress after completing the Prototype to Production Section of GameDevHQ’s 2D Development Course:

In conclusion, after overcoming both the challenges of downloading GamerDevHQ’s Filebase and the game development program, Unity crashing to complete the Prototype to Production Section of GameDevHQ’s 2D Development Course, I was happy with the results. In fact, I was able to reapply what I had just learned through the Prototype to Production Section of GameDevHQ’s 2D Development Course without referencing the video lectures. In my opinion my challenges today were a blessing in disguise.

Thank you.
